Rebecca reminded me that January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and there are some great ski deals out there.
NY 4th Grade Ski & Ride Passport Program
For $20, kids can get up to 3 free lift tickets (with an adult ticket purchase) per participating New York mountains and other discounts
 Ski for $10 on January 10th at participating New York mountains.
Vermont Fifth Grade Passport program
5th graders (10- to 11-year-olds) ski free at a bunch of different Vermont resorts with a paying adult, with blackout dates, mostly MLK weekend and February break. Apply online, pay $10, and it takes a couple of weeks to process.
January’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month in Vermont
A special deal for beginners only. $29 includes equipment rental, a lesson, and access to beginner terrain. This is available at many resorts, but MLK weekend is often blacked out and there are varying age restrictions for different resorts.
